cleaning seats and carpet

ok, so i bought another s10 and the guy that had it before worked in a lot of greasy/dirty places. so the carpet and seats are greasy/dirty. i started out using some simple green on the seats, spraying it on, vacuuming it out. over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over..get the point. didnt work so great, so i got some of the armor all brand carpet/upholstery cleaner i had and tried it the same way...still not so perfect, so i read some old threads on here and they said "great stuff" so i went up and got some of that, best so far, but still the same boat. and the seasts are pretty saturated so im letting them dry for tonight. carpet, i used some turltle wax brand "oxy power out" and its got the little brush on it, just fills up with sand/dirt/cleaner and picks up at 1/2 sq.in. of dirt at a time....not happenin. i need ideas or better cleaners.

Re: cleaning seats and carpet

For all the money your spending on cleaning materials, you could probally just have the interior detailed.

Re: cleaning seats and carpet

i dont like having other people do stuff, i rather do it myself. even if it costs twice as much as doing it another way, i learn something in the end.

Re: cleaning seats and carpet

you don't need to buy auto specific cleaners just go to the store and buy houshold carpet cleaner it is the same stuff for half the price.

degreasor spray then carpet cleaner, scrub, vaccum and repeat

Re: cleaning seats and carpet

If there is alot of greasy spots just do what i did. power wash the whole thing. It got all my dirty spots out.

(i dont know why but my thread doesnt show up in the cleaning/detailing section. but it says its in there. i had to do an advance search by user name to find it.)

Re: cleaning seats and carpet

there is some carpet cleaner i used on my truck, took the seats out and did everything. its in a blue can at walmart i forget the name tho. has a little scrubby head on it too. made it smell nice, and did a pretty good job if i do say so myself. just vacuum it out and let it sit and dry, i guess it would be the same proceedure for your seats as well, unless you want a wet ass lol

Re: cleaning seats and carpet

just take whatever cleaner ur using, spray it evenly over the whole seat so that it doesnt spot, then take a scrub brush and a bucket of water, and scrub the hell out of the seat, dont underestimate the power of elbow grease haha , then just use the heater or blot dry with a towel and let it chill in the sun, vac'n it might pull the dirt and grease back through the clean seat, so hold off the vacuuming till everythings dry, and repeat that

Re: cleaning seats and carpet

belive it or not use shaving cream. dampen ur seats/carpet rub shaving cream on it, let it sit for about a 1/2 hr or so, then use a wet rag and scrub it down good, let it set again then rise or use another wet clean rag to wash it out. i thoghut it was pretty good for dirt/grease. just spray some frebreeze on it after so you dont smell the shaving cream lol
