Cleaning rims

I just bought a Jeep Wrangler, so that my blazer can rest during huge snow storms, and I was wondering how I could clean up the American Racing Rims that are on the Jeep. The clear coat has started to bubble and peel off. Do I just peel off the clear coat and use polish or do I polish and put a coat of wax on them? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Yup, if the CC is peeling, just strip the rest off and start polishing. DO NOT use a Dremel to polish. "Don't ask me how I know" (It gets to hot and etches the aluminum.)
Polish with Mothers Mag polish.
