Cleaning Polished Custom Wheels

I have Primax 17" polished wheels on my truck and they are fairly new(3,000 miles) and I ve been cleaning them with soap and water and they are so so no real shine now it seems even tho I have a wheel cover I use to cover wheels (a round pice of cardboard!!!)to spray tire foam on tires I have noticed a what I would call staining or strong water marks on the wheels and it wont come off. I thought it to be tire foam it really shoews on the center cap which is chrome plated plastic they have marks similiar to wheels and they are rough to the touch...any sugguestions on wheel cleaners, polish or whatever I dont know whether they are clear coated or not ...its driving me nuts while my Pirelli P7s are always brownish in color put on same time as wheels Thanks

If you got polished wheels your going to have to polish them to keep em shinny. Try Mothers incredible billet polish thats what I use and it works great. About the brown tires, take the can of tire foam and throw it in the trash,in the woods anywhere just dont use it and go get some meguires endurance tire gel and some kind of aplicator. It will last longer than the foam junk and wont turn your tires brown.

Inbetween the regular polishing, I've been using Eagle One's polished aluminum wash. It seems to do a pretty good job getting all the crap off the rims, but you still need to polish them like every couple of weeks.

you should use mother's billet polish like everyone says it works great. if you can polish aluminum really well theyll look like chrome. and for the tires buy Eagle One Tire and Wheel Cleaner. spray it on the tires and let it sit for a minute, then with a scrub brush srub the tires vigorously, then finally rise the tires off. let them either air dry or towel dry them, then apply Meguir's Endurance Tire Gel and apply with a small kitchen sponge (easy on low pro tires) and let dry for appx 5-10 min and ur done.

THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER USED AND EVER seen is just simply jewlers rouge you can get it at most large truck stops it is what truck drivers use to polish all the aluminum on their trucks and even if you do it by hand it dont take that much elbo greese trust me it is awsome

The compounds work really well, rubbing compound or polishing compound, i use the white compound rouge or the tripoli (rust color) for stubborn spots followed with a polish, usually mothers billet. The compounds work a lot faster and easier and are far less expensive than the billet polish.

how about using a buffer 9-10" random orbital or drill with 6 inch wool polishing pad on them or a dremel to get into tight spots (I am not sure what polishing accessory to use dremel will surprize you as far as how the softest minature wheel can burn things up)I live on the beachside in Florida and I guess the salt air in attacking them quickly or maybe these Primax 079s have a cheap finish and of course no clear coat--I like the polishing compound or rubbing compound idea!
Keep the info coming I like the Endurance by Maguiers but it doesnt help when it comes off tire on to wheels

yeah that sea salt will kill unprotected aluminum, get something on them after you polish, a good wax will help.

eastwoodcompany.com has a ton of nice buffs and compounds to choose from.
