cleaning composite headlights
Alright, my friend's GMC Jimmy's headlights are so dull looking that his dims will only work on city streets at 25. Any faster than that, and its scary. He can drive around with his bright lights on and nobody will ever know! So... my question is, how do we go about cleaning them and making the lights a bit brighter?

Re: cleaning composite headlights
use a metal polish first. then compund if still necessary, then wax. my friend had an old escort that was real bad and it helped.

3M Plastic Cleaner followed by 3M Plastic Polish.

Re: cleaning composite headlights
I've had success using Meguires Plastix polish. It didn't do much when applying by hand, but once I hooked up the polisher things went well. Be careful with the polisher, it may burn the plastic if held in place too long. Better yet get yourself a random orbit polisher. Those things are much safer to use with less risks. Porter Cable 7424 or 7336 is an excellent choice.

Re: cleaning composite headlights
For the best results, use a polish made for plastic- Novus 1, 2 and 3
