cleaned & detailed my sdime
not sure if this is the forum to post this in..but here it goes anyways
as some of you might know i bought a sdime not so long ago, used. Was guys work truck, but he didnt use it much, 97 with only 47k miles on it. Had alot of scratches and paint all over the body and the interior. Interior smelled pretty bad.... After alot of hours with a rug and GS27 most of the scratches & paint dissapeared. I removed the seats and used a hot steam vac to wash the carpets. I gotta tell u, so much friggin stuff was lifter it was not even funny. After 3 passes stuff was still comming out! At the end it was worth it tho ![]() heres a good comparison pics of scratches on the bed of truck... ![]() ooops decals are gone...so are the things from the sun-visors (i removed the Chevrolet and delers name a while back..) carpet cleaned...no seats... these two things r the shit! anybody use led water sprinkler things? i am still debating if i should keep or loose them....and there white btw hummm..should i do grill insert? anybody know how to remove paint from the bed liner without damaging it? Looks Goo I would lose the LED Sprinklers, I would NOT get a street scene for that grill, I think they dont look good they're too bubbly in my own opinion. Ill have to try the G27, does it take out blemishes too? or just scratches? Im trying to get rid of some blemishes n scratches, Compound has done itself a decent job on some parts, keep up the good work and I'd say TRY the gutter mesh, if you dont like, take it out no harm done!

Don't listen to any of these people. It's your truck, do what YOU want. if you think it looks pimp, phuq what everyone else says.

One more opinion - get rid of those rear quarter panels in a HURRY.
And good job on the scratch removal. Does GS27 work well on black paint? |

Re: cleaned & detailed my sdime
All the GS27 or any "scratch remover" for that matter does is fill in the scratches with a pigment. Over time you will wash the pigment out and the scratches will return. The proper way to do it is to use a rotary buffer (if you are experienced with one, if not, hire someone) and a cutiing pad to get rid of them. Rour other option if this does not work is to wetsand and then use the buffer. If you lived closer to me, I would show you. Be careful with wetsanding though, get a paint depth guage to see if you have enough clear on there or you will sand it all off and only have basecoat left.
