Clay Bar for removing oxidation

some chrome on my truck has some lite water/oxidation spots. I'm guessing a clay bar would be the best way to get this off?

A metal polish will work best.
You can pick one up at Wal-Mart.
Metal polishes mostly work the same...
I have a lot of them here and for the most part, you can not tell any real difference in performance.

Yeah, don't bother with the clay bar. Be very careful you want to make sure you are using a non-abrasive polish on your chrome otherwise you will damage it. If you went with a product like Poorboys Professional Polish it would shine up your chrome, and be useful for polishing out marks in your paint and plastic as well.

Re: Clay Bar for removing oxidation

I bought a clay bar tonight for some road tar/paint on the bottom of the blazer and I bought some blue magic metal polish for the chrome...we'll give it a try this weekend and see how it works.

Now, for the clay bar...it came with a bottle of lube, so after I wash it, do I have to dry it completely or can I just have some water on it, and make sure I spray it with the lube? then it says to just wipe all the lube (spray detailer) and make sure its dry and then wax? this sound right to everyone?

I like to dry the truck before claying.

Spray lube- then clay small area.

Dry area

Test to make sure it is slick

Clay again if needed

Move on to next area and start over
