Re: clay bar

I don't believe it does, and even if it does, if the vehicle has a good thick coat of clear on it, then it shouldn't matter, because the first thing a painter(or someone) does, when your car is out of the spray booth, and they let it cure for atleast a day, is wet sand it, and buff it. So, if you can wet sand paint, then a clay bar shouldn't be a problem. I just clayed my sisters car for her last night, and it's actually good for the paint... it keeps it free of contaminants, and other things that like to cling to it, and make it feel rough. I clay my truck about once, or twice a month, and wax it about 2-3 times a month. Everytime you clay, you gotta wax the clayed surface, which is what I do plus another waxing somewhere in between.

Re: clay bar

If you go to the autoparts stores, they usually have claying kits that start at around $13, and go all the way up to $20+.

I bought this yesterday for about 20 bucks, and it worked GREAT!.....

Well, I wasn't saying you couldn't, or shouldn't wet sand, and buff a car the same day you finish painting it. I was just going by what I had seen other painters do. I know some actually prefer to sand it, and buff it, while it's still kinda fresh... everyone has their own methods, and their own order in which they do them.

BINGO..
I have been detailing cars for 4 years no and everycar that come in for a wax. we claybar it first. if the same car comes in 2 months later. we will not clay it. just use a GP spray after washing the car and hose it off
