Re: clay bar?
It's a bar of clay,, synthetic clay,,, you use it with soapy water,, or if you buy the mothers clay bar kit,, you use the Showtime Spray detailer with it for lubrication.
You spray on the Showtime, or soapy water and flaten the clay bar on a hard spot like the roll of a fender, then you start rubbing your clear coat... it'll take off over spray,, hardened bugs, minor minor scratches, contaminants n such,, and basically takes your clear coat back to when it was sprayed on. Then you have to wax to put UV protection back on. OH,, leaves clear soooo smooth.. like a babies butt! |

Re: clay bar?
Clay bar does not remove scratches. It will remove paint transferr, but it will not help with scratches. Clay bars are a MUST when detailing and remove all the air borne contaminents that get inbedded into your clear coat. I would recommend using a quick detailer spray instaed of soap and water because of the superior lubrication. good luck.

Re: clay bar?
![]() Clay Bars are totally non-abrasive and are the most efficient and safe way to quickly remove surface contamination, overspray by “pulling” if off the surface. Clay is a must before polishing your truck for an ultra-smooth finish. I have Adam's Clay bar and Detail Spray Combo. The clay isnt as stiff as others and comes in a nice case which I found to be genius since no other brand gives you anything. http://www.2020kustoms.com/?product&ID=16 |

Re: clay bar?
Clay is used for removing surface contaminants such as overspray.
It makes your paint feel smooth as glass. It is not recommended for removal of embedded contaminants as it does not remove all the embedded pieces, more like "clips" them off. It can "pull" some out, but leaves others. For this you will need an acid wash followed by a neutralizer for the best results and to actually remove all of it. Clay is one of my favorite products to use as it makes polishing and waxing easier ![]() |

Re: clay bar?
Get the Zaino kit. It's about $100 shipped and comes with 2 claybars, washing soap, quick detailer, polishing compound, wax, buff pads and a few other things. I'm still using my kit from over a year ago when I ordered it. The entire claybar system takes about 8 hours from start to finish (following the instructions they provide). Better than any other detailing product I've used. Do a search on "Zaino."

Re: clay bar?
Hmmmm...,
8 hours is a LOT of time. Are you using the ZFX and ZPRO? It dries instantly. I can apply and remove it all in less than an hour easily... |

Re: clay bar?
To save some time clay as you wash, use the wash soap which is also cheaper than the clay lube or quick detail spray. |
