Re: Carpet Stains
Carpet eventually loses it's stain protection. The more you clean it, the quicker it will get dirty. Your best bet would be to run a carpet cleaner (very inexpensive to rent) on the whole carpet and then scotchguard the carpet. I do mine every couple years and my 14yr old carpet looks brand new.

Re: Carpet Stains
they sell it right at autozone, by the best stuff they have though its worth the extra money, the color stays longer and less fadin. if its real bad, pull the carpet right out and use 2 cans and go over the whole carpet

Re: Carpet Stains
I too use resolve mixed 50/50 with white vinegar with a hot carpet steamer.
Cleans real well and smells good for a long time. |

Re: Carpet Stains
the reason is because if you ever spill or dirty up the carpet after you dye it and you go and try to shampoo it it will remove the dye and the OLD stain will reapear also it will rub off or come off in time with ease and wont look good over time. the only time i recommend to use dye to my customers is when your trying to sell a car and trying to hide something. BUT to each his own. ![]() |

Re: Carpet Stains
I don't recommend it in all vehicles....test it first. As for what I have very good sucess with is.... My Hoover Steam Vac running ZEP carpet solution in it. I used Orange Blast by Grease Lightning on the heavy stains and a carpet scrub brush. I will show you my GT350 Mustang for example...not bad for a 22yr old interior All I had for a pic of how it looked is this small one from the ad ![]() I scrubbed the hell out of it with the items I listed above ![]() Here you can see the black spots and stuff in the trunk ![]() All cleaned up ![]() |
