Re: carpet cleaner

if its one spot just clean it, or if your carpet looks faded and all around dirty you can do this.

Re: carpet cleaner

I've used several. One worked really well, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was.

Get one with the brush on the can though, it's invaluable for working spots clean, and just using to rubdown the carpet overall. Helps get the dirt and spots out and bring the carpet back up and give it that clean look.

I was in walmart the other day back near the paint and such, and I saw some more upholstery cleaning supplies back there, I think by the mops and cleaning supplies. They had some spray cans of upholstery cleaner that looked interesting, I'd never seen them before, but the $9 price tag made me curious, for $9 it better work well.

Vacuum really well before you use the cleaner, and it will make your job easier. Get a couple rolls of paper towels as well. Use them to blot with. Spray it down, work it over with the brush, then start blotting it out with the towels. You'll be surprised at what comes out, you'll probably wonder if someone was killed in your truck, lol, every carpet I've cleaned has always had a rusty red color blot out of it.

On the truck I just bought a while ago I removed the seats and vacuumed the thing for about 30 minutes then shampooed it 3x. Be carefull not to overdo it or that lovely quality Chevy carpet will start to come apart.

Gotta save money somewhere I guess.

Re: carpet cleaner

Buy a little steam cleaner and let it be your friend. Then you can charge others to do there cars and let it pay for its self.

Re: carpet cleaner

I use this stuff called folex I think it comes in a white spray bottle. I got it a wallmart it was in the car cleaning area but I'm pretty sure it is in the household cleaning area. That and simple green worked magic on my gray carpet in my blazer.

Re: carpet cleaner

the brush top can is cheap shit, honestly if you have an o'reillys or advanced auto around go in and pick up meguiars carpet cleaner with bissell tech and grab a stiff bristle brush, and scrub the best stuff, (sp?) sucks sorry

Re: carpet cleaner

I use Resolve in a carpet shampooer we have here at the house.
Resolve will pull just about any dirt or stain. Great stuff. Makes
the ride smell purty too. You can also use white vinegar with
Resolve or just by itself. It will lift stains and kill many little critters
you might have in the carpet. Helps get rid of cig smoke as well.
