Re: brown tires!!
Bleachewhite doesnt stain wheels, well it never did with mine anyways, I mean if wheel acid doesnt screw with em bleachewhite has a long time before it does any damge to the wheels.
The brown shit is brake dust, think about cleaning em then getting ceramics. |

Re: brown tires!!
I have AR TTII'S and getting that bleach white on the rims DID
stain em. Took the polish off. Nasty stuff. I use either Simply Green or Fantasic house cleaner and a stiff brush follwed up with No Touch tire dressing. Works good. One tire has been on since 99. Still pulls a shine. I don't drive much. Pirelli 400's. |

Re: brown tires!!
I accidentially got degreaser on my tires when I was cleaning the rims, and stripped the shine right off of them. Put brown stripes all down the inside of the tires. Luckily once I reapplied the shine, they came up new again.

Re: brown tires!!
yeah..i nice stiff bristled brush does wonders...you could try a little superclean, but it's not good for polished aluminum...

Re: brown tires!!
I also have white letter tires like inprogress10, I use the blechewhite stuff every other time I wash my truck. One good tip for tire shine: get a latex or rubber glove and put an old sock(but fully intact, don't want any holes in the sock) over it, then spray the sock with the tire shine until it's almost saturated. Use the sock for the tires, and it'll get you pretty even coverage on the tire shine without getting any of it on the rims.

Re: brown tires!!
yeah if you use bleach white(which works amazing)and have polished aluminum wheels be prepared to do some polishing on the wheels to get that crap off, but it all looks damn good when your done

Re: brown tires!!
I spent 30.00 bucks for four Kleen-Wheels brake shields that go
between the rims and the brakes. Has made brake dust up front a thing of the past, and also helps keeps the rear pretty clean considering. www.kleenwheels.com Last edited by bg's : 09-07-2006 at 03:00 PM. |

Re: brown tires!!
SOS pads also clean up white lettered tires like crazy. Witnessed with my own eyes when my brother had the old school tiger paws.

Re: brown tires!!
you guys are gonna laugh at this, but use some of eagle one's new chrome wheel cleaner (the kind that comes in a spray bottle). i used it to clan my uncle's wheels, and it melts most of the grime/brake dust away, and it melted a lot of the brown shit off the tires... just spray it on and watch it fall off.
