Re: blazer decals
I take about 3 sets off a week at work so we can letter or paint trucks. It's just a double sided foam tape holding them on to the body. I usually start by masking off around the emblem with a few widths of making tape. You can heat up the emblem and surrounding area with a heat gun or hair dryer. Then I either tape up a metal 2" scraper or use a plastic one to carefully slide between the emblem and the body. Just kinda cutting through the double sided tape thats holding it on. After you get it started enough you can grab it and pull it off. There will likely be a bunch of tape and glue left still on the body. At work I use a 3M eraser wheel attachment for a drill that removes the tape and glue all at once with out hurting the paint. But you can warm up the tape and glue some more. Then fold a rag over a few times and use it on your finger to ball up and remove as much heavy tape and glue that you can. Whats left over you can use varsol or goo gone to remove. Remove the masking take and that's it!

Re: blazer decals
I used fishing line. Once the emblems were off I just used some Goo Gone to get rid of the residue. Worked great.

Re: blazer decals
One other thing, after you finish with Goo Gone make sure you rinse the area off and then apply wax. I find that the Goo Gone tends to clean very well given a few seconds to soak in. |
