No.7 Chrome Cleaner/Polish, it's amazing, try it out. Best stuff I have ever used by far.

Re: Best way to get rust off of chrome ?
When I detail motorcycles, I always use 00 steel wool soaked in soapy water or chrome polish. You'd be amazed at how much crap you can take off of chrome with that combo...

I second Never Dull! I use that stuff all the time now on the ship i work on for polishing brass and copper. I found it years ago when I used to off road my 4x4 all the time. It save an old set of wheels i had on it as well as my bumpers. I love the stuff.

Coke and aluminum foil. Let the Coke sit on there for a few minutes. That stuff will scrub right off.

Re: Best way to get rust off of chrome ?
I've been waiting for someone the mention this, has anyone tried a rag soaked in CLR. They removed the rust off a chrome bike fender in one of their ads. I've never tried this.

Re: Best way to get rust off of chrome ?
I've always used aluminum foil to get the rust off and then used chrome polish after. It seems to help the rust spots from coming back.

Re: Best way to get rust off of chrome ?
There is a product made that starts with a "Z" I believe that is made to do just this thing. It's a pink paste that comes in a silver toothpaste tube and will clear rust and polish the surface also. Used it on a couple of chromed light fixtures sitting in an abandoned '60's house I remodeled and the fixtures turned out awesome. If I remember it later, I'll post the name.

I have a little bit of rust in the pits right where the spokes meet the lips of my rims, I am going to try all this stuff and see if it works

Re: Best way to get rust off of chrome ?
is there a little rust or a lot? if there's too much that surface removers cant take off you should get some fine grit sand paper. i'm talking 2000, 4000, or even 6000 grain. you can get it at auto zone. just very carefully sand down the areas you absolutely have to so its not as noticeable.
