Re: Best Tire Wet????
I like Black Magic, as well as Armor All Tire Wet. But damn, I'd only use that if I was parked at a show only. That chit takes forever to dry enough to not sling up onto the body of the truck. If I'm gonna drive ANYtime soon, I use the Black Magic Foam. It darkens/cleans nicely and dries a lot quicker without the excessive wet residue to sling up on your truck.

Re: Best Tire Wet????
Black Magic Tire Wet in the black & white spray can. I always prefer the look of shiny and deep black. To protect the wheels from the excess spray, I use a product named Wheel Shield (www.amshield.com).

Re: Best Tire Wet????
I use the Black Magic, too...it's also good for spraying the inner fender liners on my truck. Cleans the plastic and makes it shiny, and I hit the shock boots with it, too. Seeing as though there's a foot of space between the top of the tire and flare, I gotta make it look good in there.

Re: Best Tire Wet????
meguiar's hot shine. also if you have the real hard-ass plastic that doesn't like the silicone type shiners, try WD-40 (carefully)

Re: Best Tire Wet????
I only use the Black Magic in the Black and White aerosol can as well. I've tried a couple of other products but seem to like this one the best. Lasts a while too. Highly recommend it.

Re: Best Tire Wet????
i would reccomend using anything but armorall and turtle wax products
the all suck but the best way to get a really good shine is to pour it into a cotton wax applicator pad, and rub the pad onto the tires, then wipe it off with a terry cloth, then put it on again, then wipe it off again....do it a few times....it takes a while...but it will soak in better and look pimpin |

Re: Best Tire Wet????
FWIW, a couple of my friends and I use the black plastic discs that come on new Hondas when they arrive at the dealership. I guess they're to protect the rims during transport. They usually have a stack of them behind the detail shop and will let you have them. They even have little "finger holes" in the middle where the lugs would be.

Re: Best Tire Wet????
If you want the best tire gel on the market, go with Meguiar's Gold Class High Endurance Gloss Tire Gel. Apply it with a foam applicator and then lightly wipe it off. This is the absolutely best tire gel on the market. You can find it at Pep Boy's, but I order all my detailing stuff off of www.meguiars.com. It is a purple gel and smells like grapes. About @10 a bottle but a bottle lasted me all last summer and I detail cars and trucks on the side. Check it out!

Re: Best Tire Wet????
also i really recommend getting those little concave sponges they sell with their starter kits, you simply pour a little on the sponge and then wipe it onto the tires, you can use alot less than it usually takes to get the wet look from just squirting it on or spraying it on a rag |

Re: Best Tire Wet????
i was a detailer at the dealership i work at for about 4 years. i wasn't satisfied with any of the stuff i ever used when detailing until i found this turtle wax tire wax. i know, i know. i've never had any luck with any turtle wax product, but a friend told me it was cheap so he bought it and liked it. i bought a bottle of it and it was less than 5 bucks. it actually works pretty good. it comes with an applicator pad and everything. i never used any kind of spray shine cause i don't want it all over my wheels and body. the wax and gels are the best stuff by far. i've heard the meguires is really good too. if you guys ever see the turtle wax-tire wax, check it out.

Re: Best Tire Wet????
I swore by black magic tire wet spray forever until I found out that Zaino Bros made a tire cleaner/detailer. Balck Magic always comes off and makes your paint look like battered dog shit after awhile. Zaino Bros tire stuff can be bought through zainostore.com for $12.95 a bottle. I know it sounds a bit pricey but it will last you well over a year with once a week use. It doesn't take much to do your tires. You put this stuff on, let it dry for about an hour and then repeat as many times as you would like for optimal shine. This stuff makes the tires look great, it repels dust and grit and it DOES NOT COME OFF at all. The rain will eventually wear it down but it will shine through minimal rain and a couple of carwashes. It's the best I have found.

Duh! Is this even a decision? Black Magic Tire Wet because it smells focking awesome. I don't use it anymore but I have a bottle of it and i spray it in the garage every now and then just to catch a few whiffs of it. Heh, love that shit.
