Battery trays...
I was wondering the best way to neutralize and clean the battery tray. It's got the usual chalky crud on it, but is still solid. Is their a better type of paint to use once it's clean? Thanks for any help... Jeff

Re: Battery trays...
I put a wire wheel on my angle grinder and wired the whole tray. I then put a product called Prep-step on it. It's a neutralizing chemical that you put on metal before painting it with a chassis paint. The paint that I used was called Zero-Rust. It's similar to POR15. After I painted it with 2 coats, I put a top-coat clear on top.
I would think the best way to do it would be to sandblast it and powder coat it, but I didn't have those methods available to me. Here is the website I used for the zero-rust products: http://raybuck.com/c-54781-zero-rust-metal-coating.html |

Re: Battery trays...
I cleaned the crap off, then sandblasted mine, and used bed-liner spray.
