Baked on Brake Grime.
My boyds have a crap ton of baked on brake grime and I was wondering if using a steel wool pad would be the best route. I saw downa few threads that it worked for chromed wheels but I didnt know if it would scratch the billet or not.
Thanks. |

Re: Baked on Brake Grime.
If it's truely baked on there it might take a bit more than steel wool and glass cleaner to get rid of the brake dust. P&S Products has a couple cleaners I use, Brake Buster and Mag Wheel Plus. Brake Buster is safe for any type of wheel, Mag Wheel Plus is an acid cleaner and wilkl etch any polished aluminum/stainless wheels. If you can find a product like Brake Buster locally, I'd suggest trying it out

Re: Baked on Brake Grime.
i also suggest trying this product... LikeaRock.....i have something you may like....its a product that is non-acid that i use on wheels, white walls, tires, and wells......does wonders on all mentioned and cleans the whitewall with NO brush whatsoever 90% of the time BUT this is when used with a pressure washer..... also doesnt "burn" the paint as some degreasers will on fender paint etc paint.... its made by a local distributer thats a small company...(VERY small.) maybee ill make that "your" sample....... |

Re: Baked on Brake Grime.
I remember a guy from P&S telling me and my co-worker about the one time he "accidentally" sprayed Mag Wheel Plus on the Eagle Alloys on the delivery van. He had a hell of a time polishing those things out ![]() |
