Just bought myself a 03 Xtreme and the roads and my driveway are pretty harsh was just wondering with the Xtreme's Ground Effects can I bring it through a automatic car wash and not worry about losing my front bumper when i pull it in any advice would help.

Re: Auto Car Wash

on my dad's 98 blazer, the antenna is fine, but on my truck, when i bought it, the antenna was shortened, so it wasn't that tall, but then I broke it off being dumb, so I left the plate that is on the fender, but took off the antenna, bought an amplified antenna to hide inside my truck, so i don't have one outside my vehicle, but I've never had a problem with bending antennas, I don't think you should have to worry about that

Re: Auto Car Wash

my advice would be to stay away from most of the brush-type car washes. sometimes the wraps can get sand or microscopic dirt in them and swirl your car. it may not happen everytime, but its very possible, and ive watched it happen being a worker at a car wash.

Re: Auto Car Wash

yea, we call the hanging cloths wraps, i dont know why. also, the wraps or brushes can easily take off mirrors. ive watched it happen more than a couple times.

lol, I always heard "A little elbow greese never hurts" ... I always stayed away from auto wash's.. I usually spent like 4 hours just washing my truck, when I did try a pressure washer once, It blew a chunk of my decal off!!! I was PisSed.

Re: Auto Car Wash

if its a wash like at a gas station then follow the directions on the sign and you will be fine (antenna can stay on). If its a full service wash then they will tell you want can and cant go through with the car and if they dont tell you then they are liable. Those washes are designed to not put any more strain on any part of a vehicle then the strain that is put on a car when you are going about 70MPH and we all know that an xtreme can go 70+mph on the highway.

Re: Auto Car Wash

i have gone through auto car washes when i had to drive the x in the winter just for the underflush. Mobil gas stations around here are all very good and they dont touch your car. Ive never had any problems so far but now since it is getting closer to spring im going to hand wash it.
