Anyone ever heard of flitz?
I was watching tv and this commercial came on trying to sell this product called flitz. It's suppose to clean chrome, plastic, and metal with this thing that attaches to your drill. Has anyone ever used this or heard about it, and do they recommend using it, because i got lazy on cleaning my rims and need something other than soapy water to clean them.

Re: Anyone ever heard of flitz?
Last night I gave Flitz a try with the Flitz Ball and I'm mixed with the results. Flitz has been around for years and is arguably one of the best metal polishes all on it's own. In that regard it did work well in bringing the shine out in my rims. The problem was that the ball is so big and bulky it doesn't get in the tight spots around the edges etc. I also found that it would splatter product over the rest of the vehicle even when it was spread on thin.
Overall it works very well at shining up the big flat areas, but you will still probably want to use a regular polish in the tight areas by hand. I might recommend trying a liquid chemical cut product instead of the usual abrasive cut products. The liquid is much easier to apply and polish so that will save you some time as well. I can recommend Adam's metal polish or Speedy. As for the splatter I experience that can be easily removed with detail spray and a microfiber towel. |
