Acid Based cleaner

Well I tryed somethin new on my Eagle 212s the other day and it worked but i was always told it wasnt sposed to. I quickly srayed acid on the wheels and washed them off. Shine like crazy now, but what r the affects of this? Ive posted this before but i figured id aske the dudes that know alot about it.

I'm suprised it didn't etch the living hell out of your wheels...What type of acid did you use?
