Well I don't know about anyone else, but the clearcoat on my rims is chipping and peeling all over, and generally looking terrible. Is there any way I can restore these old rims to looking good again, preferably without having to spend too much cash?
Any tips or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, slev |

Re: 99 stock aluminum wheels...
i've heard of stripping all the clear down, and sanding and sanding and sanding and sanding, then polishing, polishing and polishing, then you have shinny wheels. not sure what to do about your center caps though. just an idea worth looking into.

Re: 99 stock aluminum wheels...
Yeah, sounds like I'll be doing a lot of sanding, heh. There's another extreme in town (blah) and it has polished aluminum wheels and shiny center caps... maybe I can buy them somewhere. Only other thing I've seen, is a guy had some stick on aluminum or something on his caps after polishing the rims... will have to look into it.
Anyway, thanks for the help, slev |
