yes the dc5100 is what i used. i've also used the limco 4100. i usually use that on smaller jobs or just panel jobs. but i like the 5100 for full repaints cause usually its a custom job. you ever use the dc5400? whats the difference between that and the 5100

i belive they dont make the dc5400 anymore, and i think it was a baking clear. have you tired the dc5335? alot nicer for completes but price is little higher than the 5100 but its a 4:1:1. Where do you get your products from? pm me with what your paying might be able to help you

to me all basf clears that ive used so far lay down nice, to meduim coats 4-6min between coats, looks little peely on second but just leave it and it will lay out nice. but thte 5335 will lay out really nice with little peel and has a little more depth to it seems to buff easy to, only used it once but like it alot better for completes

Re: Two Tone paint pics

ne one have experience with HOK's Kameleon Kolors?

I am looking at doing a pinstripe on my two tone after new paint in green-silver...

Is the stuff not supposed to be sprayed over black first for best results?

Re: Two Tone paint pics

Bumping this up because I am thinking of doing mine in a two tone this year. This has been my favorite two tone first gen since before it was even featured and mine is going to have similar colors

Re: Two Tone paint pics

I love the first gen there, but I think it needs a billet grille or something because that red sticks out too much. imo

edit: reading>me you just like the paint scheme.

I think that's what makes me like it so much. It shows that it's still a GMC, you know? Kind of a custom-stock look, with the redtails.

Re: Two Tone paint pics

Nice Off-roadin' pictures Docter Steve, we should go sometime.

I've been messing around with idea of a two-tone truck. My photoshop skills are rubbish but I was thinking something like this.

Hockey stripe and black grille idea from the 67-69 camaros

then went crazy with the white, tried to copy the corvette racing fender stripe but I'm not sure if I like it. Then made it a Bumble bee stripe over the hood.

Re: Two Tone paint pics

You have "dragframe" on the chassis yet your truck is lifted...

And thats a big 'NO' on the idea of corvette racing stripes on the bumper there, ICE-Z Hahaha
