there is a hole in my roof?

well as most of you know i have a 4 door blazer...and that means that there is a whole lot of space in the top for a large sliding rag top...so what did i do...i ordered the 40x80 unit from street beat...

here are some pics...me and rich (1/4milecrazy) got tired and stopped but the hardest parts are done...

started with a nice stock roof...

and we taped it up to draw our lines....and made a cardboard cut out...

and some words or encouragement from my buddy jason...

roof all traced out and ready for cutting!

oh here i come with the drill to start things off...

oh shit...no going back now...

cutting...

after all the fun cutting...we had to peel off the roof...

now the skin is off and all that is left is the braces...

my buddy Mr. Sawzall took care of that for me...

now we are test fitting the track in place...

for all the haters...

and that's it for now...we were tired so we will continue this tomorrow.....stay tuned in to see how it comes out...

that is what rich said when he got to my shop....he said there is not turning back once we start this....so we measured it like 20 times before i started cutting...my buddy rich will tear apart a motor and rebuild it but he even said this takes balls to do...

yeah no sh it hurry up.. its not like its hard to install or anything. Cut everything out with the butterknife, slap some silly putty on there to seal it up, and super glue the damn thing down.

HOLY GODDAMN THAT A HUGE BITCH. Bwahahahahaha...

Cant wait to see this finished...I really wanna do this to mine, but alas the wifey wont let me.

What do you use to seal the track down, and keep everything from leaking. Does anyone know of a Pop out sunroof from another car that can be retrofitted to a dime, Id rather keep that smooth look than have the rag piled up in the back.

Really nice, it such a huge hole, good job....did you have to reinfoirce the roof at all? My buddy has it on his ranger and we just reinforced it, cuz it started to warp, and the ragtop started to leak!!!but he's had it for about 5 years....Still awesome job for your fist time!!!
