Re: starting the S-Tang

Thanks, we're pretty happy with the garage. Just have a little trim work left to do, as well as hang some pics of our previous rides. We have to run the Eclipse through one more winter ( I know its a crime). Half the reason we bough it. The Eclipse GTS's and GT Premiums have a traction control system which eats canadian winters for breakfast. In the spring, she'll get a new body kit all around ( tastefull) as well as airstruts to lay her out like she outta be, yet still be able to drive around Ottawa without tearing the bumper covers off.

Re: starting the S-Tang

well fall is here and the project is back on track. the s-tang will be completed by next spring!

we worked on the grill last weekend, we made it out of aluminum flat stock, it ended up being alot more work then i thought. but its almost done, we just need to get them mounted.

here is a sneak peak picture of them just sitting in place, more to come after this weekend

I never knew this truck was a longbed. Now I understand why you want to shorten the bed.

Re: starting the S-Tang

no progres pics but we werent slacking over the weekend! i finished welding in all the pin holes in the bumper while the hubby replaced the upper and lower ball joints and wheel barings.

next weekend, more grinding and welding, i cant beleive there are still holes in there! brackets for the grills and maybe fixing the electrical on the headlights now that someone on here gave us a tip on how to fix our problem.

Re: starting the S-Tang

Wow, I just read through this entire thread. I remmeber seeing the brown one and saying, looks ok, neat concept but the bumper needs help. THIS is perfect. You and your husband are hitting the nail on the head with this. With this thing stuffing those 20's either laying frame front to back or even bodied, that bumper will look perfect. EXCELLENT WORK

Re: starting the S-Tang

Air bag the eclipse!!! it would look sweet and get some Konig Verdict wheels, my friend has 19" for his 3g and they look so fuggin sweet! hes tearing his car down now to get back into racing..

only thing photoshoped in this picture is it being layed, it doesnt really sit this low... actually height, before he put the 19s on it and his ex gf..

Re: starting the S-Tang

overall real nice project! im kinda with the guys who were skeptical about mixing ford and gm...but in the end you cant say anything bad about how good its coming out. awesome fab work!

can this type of conversion be done with the new 2010 camaros??? i think that would look badass!

Re: starting the S-Tang

any conversion can be done, depending on how much time, money and skill you have. but it doesnt mean it would look good

Re: starting the S-Tang

We're getting closer each weekend. We were pretty sick the last couple weeks so we didn't get much done except for some mechanical work and a little bit more welding. We should be ready to start laying fiberglass and bodyfiller on the bumper this weekend.
We had tossed around the idea of going with a new camaro front before they were out. I did a quick photoshop of it a couple years ago.... the SS10.

Re: starting the S-Tang

why would u ruin a chevy by janking it out with ford crap? put a vette nose on that biotch then slam that

Why would you ruin a truck my bagging it? put a stock suspension on it and lift that... see what I'm getting at? instead of being a negative nancy look how nice the craftsmanship is compared to your big cookie cutter of a truck. You need to learn to appreciate hard and great work instead of judging a truck by its front end conversion.

To OP: Don't listen to tools like bizkitz keep up the quality work.

Re: starting the S-Tang

The Mustang clip looks much better than the Camaro clip. Then again, I hate the current Camaro so I may be a little biased.

some El camino's had an 80's style camaro front end looked stupid so i would imagine an S-10 looking even worse

Re: starting the S-Tang

last weekend we got all the seams covered with fiberglassed body filler, inside and out. and we covered the whole inside with fiberglass to hopefully make things a big stronger and water rust proof.

this weekend will be a whole lot of body work and hopefully have some pics by sunday/monday.
