Re: starting the S-Tang
All i can understand is that he thinks that puttin a stang front end on an S10 is a bad idea and looks like shit.
Now I'm a ford fan (I own 2 classic stangs) and I think the S-tang looks sweet. The ranger looks kinda dumb. As far as the taillights, I'd suggest the Shelby tails (67 or 68), any stock tails for 64 1/2-66, or 70. The 67-69 stock tails won't work propperly in a roll pan. |

Re: starting the S-Tang
I knew not everyone was going to like it. I've got a few strange and discusted looks from friends when I tell them I'm putting a ford front end on my chevy. To each is their own I guess. I personally think they flow real nicely together, and will reallly enjoy cruisin in a true one of a kind ride this summer.
Sorry for the lack of updates, been pretty busy over the holidays. We should have some updated pics of the bumper and air damn we are working on in a couple weeks. Last edited by TinaBanana : 01-06-2009 at 01:10 PM. |

Re: starting the S-Tang
it must be a weird angle with the camera because i had a look at it in the garage and it doesnt look like that. i agree it looks really stupid in the picture, but in reality it follows the curve of the well.
also the bumper warped when we welded it, so that probably adds to it not looking quite right. |

Re: starting the S-Tang
the only thing that bothers me about the truck is that the bumper on the sides doesnt seem to follow the curve of the wheel well very well. Just doesnt flow together nicely. The truck is sure interesting though. Lookin forward to seein it complete

Re: starting the S-Tang
we have 80% of the parts bought for bagging it, so its coming! we got our wheels 2 months ago, so they are just sitting there waiting with the rest of the parts.
we really need to get back to work on this thing if we want it ready by spring. |

Re: starting the S-Tang
still no progress. we decided to finish the inside of our shop a few weekends ago, so thats been keeping us busy and away from the truck. we will definatly get back to it either this weekend or the next one for sure. we are kind of dreading fixing that bumper, once we get that out of the way, it will be fun to finish the rest.
we talked to a guy this weekend who has a tailgate with the handle already relocated to the inside and shaved, and the filler peice added on the bottom for 100$. so im thinking we will get that from him if the work is good and save us some time! |

Re: starting the S-Tang
That's a helluva deal, even if the bodywork isn't that great. I can't find a junkyard tailgate for under $75, and those are rusted to hell and back.

Re: starting the S-Tang
that is indeed a giant step backwards. we spent about 2 hours trying to fix the warped bumper, but there was no fixing it, we only made more and more damage to it as we tried to bend it back into shape.
we stared at it for a good hour afterwards trying to figure out what to do. finally we decided to cut off the ends, keep the middle since its still good and strong and rebuild the ends. we spent alot of hours on that bumper, but we want it done right, so we are starting over. this time, since we are starting from scratch, we will use the mustang turn signals instead of using the s-10 ones we were using before. the mustang turns just didnt work when we were working from the stock s-10 bumper. using the mustang turnst will also eliminate the big lip that was in front of the turn signals that we (and others) didnt like. we also got a chance to point the bumper down a bit, so it matches more with the angle of the hood. |

Re: starting the S-Tang
ok here is a real update!!!!
we worked on the new bumper this weekend and its going along pretty well. we closed in the turn signals with cardboard to show how it will look. we will work on closing that in with steal next weekend we also just had to throw on one of the new wheels while we had it jacked up. putting an oem mustang bumper on there would be lame. the guy with the brown s-tand did it and i dont like how it looks at all. ![]() ![]() Last edited by TinaBanana : 03-30-2009 at 02:43 PM. |

Re: starting the S-Tang
At first i wasnt sure about this mustang front end but i think its cool and different I like to see different things rather than the same things over again
but like someone else said the height is killing it once its lowered im sure it would look sick, and i like where your going with the bumper because that brown one looks like ass now next I got to see the new challenger front end on it lol.... |

Re: starting the S-Tang
*edit* theres a Dakota around here with a Charger front end, not Challenger. Thats who I was referring to. S10 looks like its coming out nice. Im not a fan of crossbreeding so Ill never fully like it I dont think but if the new Mustangs didnt look like that and S10's just came like that itd be a fkin hot truck in my eyes. Might as well go all American and put a Dodge 360 or a Hemi in it or something lol. That would actually be sweet if you had something from all of the big 3 in it.
