one of our goal in this project is to keep everything removable and ajustable.
we did pretty good with the headlights, we have ajustement side to side, it can go foward with some spacers, but unless we expand the holes it cant go up or down. We kepted the original mounting holes on the headlights, so down the road if we decide to put in some aftermarket headlights or whatnot, we have that option. Also if we have to replace a headlight its a matter of undoing 3 screws.

where it didnt go so well is we did weld to the core support and the inner fender (we are not attached to the outer fender). Thinking back on it we could have probably made those parts removable, but honestly i dont see myself doing anything to that core support. the inner fender i supose might need altering in the future if we try to tuck some 20's in there, but its really not my thing so i think we are alright.

Re: starting the S-Tang

did a bit more work this weekend

day one: started adding onto the hood

day 2: finished the hood addon

under the hood

next week we will start adding onto the bumper so it is level with the bottom of the lip on the headlights. and will build those pillers beside the headlight

it will look a little like this

Re: starting the S-Tang

not a fan of the idea, but it looks like you do nice work, good job so far

just a thought, be sure youre able to get in behind that added part of the hood to be able to corrosion protect it, id be a shame to do all that work and have it rot out a year later

Re: starting the S-Tang

you should have made the curvy body styling flow into the headlights, in my honest opinion i think it looks retarded having the boxy front part of the fenders and hood. just does not look right on these trucks. if it was done up more curved and rolled i think it would look 100% better. but thats my opinion and to each his own but thats my .02...

Re: starting the S-Tang

we only got one day of work on the s-tang this weekend.
we pretty much duplicated the photoshop i had above.
we cut our old bumper, banged out the dent and installed it on the top of the new bumper. next weekend we can weld it in and figure out what we are doing with the sides.

Re: starting the S-Tang

we have been working a lil bit on the side markers which hasnt been 'fun work'.

we decided to not use the clear mustang turn signals we bought but rather use the s-10 turn signals and mold them into the bumper. they follow the shape of the bumper much better then the mustang turn signals.

the progress is minimal so no picture updates, maybe next weekend we will have a pic of the turn signals installed.

Re: starting the S-Tang

Even if you just worked a noma grill in and left the s10 bumper it'd be cool. Should look great with the full mustang front end. I'm not a ford fan either, but the only thing ford about it is how it looks, and the mustangs look pretty good.

Did the guy putting a 69 camaro front end on an s10 ever finish? Me and my dad talked about putting a 69 camaro front end on our 85 Astro, he could weld/cut very good after loosing use of one arm, and the astro broke down.

Re: starting the S-Tang

sorry guys, we have been totally neglecting the poor s-tang. it sat the whole summer in the garage untouched. but now that all the outside summer work is done we are back at working on the s-tang every weekend. we will have progress pics to show next weekend. we have the turn signals molded in and we should have atleast one of the side bumper done too. after that we will be finishing everything up with bondo and primer. and we will work on the air dam a bit later down the road.
