Smooth door handles.

Hey guys. I just got my tailgate shaved and got the rollpan painted. It's absolutely beautiful! Since then I'm into anything that makes my truck look cleaner. I don't want to shave the door handles but I do have a question.
The handles on my truck are textured and I don't like them. Will the smooth handles from the 94-97 handles fit? I'm planning on buying a set and getting them painted to match the truck for a smoother, much cleaner look. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Smooth door handles.

i dont know if they fit, and every set of 98+ handles ive seen where textured i think, you can sand the texture and paint them though

I jsut took the ones that came on my truck, sanded them and then painted. It's really not hard to do.

Did you paint them with an actual gun? I have no way of doing this myself unless it's rattlecan and I'm pretty particular about my truck. I'm thinking of just taking my textured ones off and having the body shop sand and paint them. I just want to do this mod soon because little details like this make a difference. When you sanded the handles did they come out glassy smooth like the rest of the truck? I'm just curious before I start doing this. Appreciate any info.

Re: Smooth door handles.

just to answer your question, yes, the 94-97's do fit, just swap out your stock lock cylinder...if you were to go that route, i got a set of 97's off a friend on here after he shaved his, and put them on my 98, i figured it would be worth the trouble to swap them out, since i only gave 5 bucks for them..

That's what I needed to know. So they will fit on my '03 correct?
I'm just going to buy a set of the smooth handles and have the shop paint them and put them on.

Re: Smooth door handles.

its super easy to switch the handles out.. took me 30 minutes max to complete both sides from pulling the door panel off to putting it back on being completely done.

and yes, like sdime98 already stated 94-97 handles will fit 98+. that would include your 03.

Re: Smooth door handles.

Yea just pick up a set of 94-97
Or use rear handles on blazers if you have keyless so you wont have the key hole.

Re: Smooth door handles.

sounds like highway robbery to me, i'm sure you can get them on here for way cheaper..i got mine from a local member for 5 bucks...he let me have them for the cost of shipping..

i'd just imagine the envoy's wouldn't be in heavy demand...like how many envoy owners do you know shaving their handles, as opposed to 94-97 s-series owners that shave theirs...plus, with the limited colors that were released on the envoy, you'd probably have a tough time actually getting some that are the same color as what you're needing..i'm sure it'd just be simpler to just go after the 94-97's and have them painted..
