new paint. couple pics in the booth

Just a couple of sneak pics of it in the paint booth. sry for the crappy cell phone pics. Can't wait to get it home, hopefully tom, and put it back together, and put my 20's back on. I had the checkmate bed lid painted too. im sure it will look better when it gets put back on too.

Re: new paint. couple pics in the booth

no the stripe only goes into the jambs a little bit. just enough so u cant tell with the door shut. same between the gap from the cab to bed. i told him to, but i guess it would of taken too much more time. i was on a low budget.

thanks guys, yea im gonna get my buddy to cut n buff it once i get it back. he works at the shop that painted it. its a two man shop, so im gonna get him to do it on the side. help me out on money, and help him out too. thanks for comments

Re: new paint. couple pics in the booth

really should have taken those handles out. Looks like you sprayed right over the lock cylinders, and the gasket that goes aroiund the handle. Anyway.. The paint looks pretty good. I"m not sure I really like the way your stripe curves. I would have made it follow the curve of the wheel opening so it doesn't look so out of place. But remember thats just my opinion lol.. Get that thing outside and lets see some better pics.

Re: new paint. couple pics in the booth

i agree with dork, i would have mirrored the line of the wheel well...but all in all it looks great.

really want to see this baby out of the booth and buffed out.

Re: new paint. couple pics in the booth

a nice bevelled edge on the stripe or some airbrushing to fill in the silver would really set it off from something some people might not like to something almost everyone will.

Re: new paint. couple pics in the booth

my buddies have came over to see it. i sat it outside a couple days and people have called me about it. i like watching the cars that slow down almost to a stop when they go by to check it out. but the bad news is, i still dont have it on the road. need to get insurance and tags and all that. i got several quotes yesterday.

Re: new paint. couple pics in the booth

well i live in chester county, pa, and commute to the penn state berks campus. but yea it still sucks. the trip is gonna be no good for this truck haha. i think its safe to say i got a little carried away with things in retrospect to having it as a daily/commuter vehicle.

Re: new paint. couple pics in the booth

looking clean!
Only thing is though It seems like the fitment of some of the bodypanels could help

Also you might want to try weatherstripping the gaps on your front end, it makes it look alot cleaner/fit nicer.

Re: new paint. couple pics in the booth

the stripes different i like it.

I would do a brighter color for pinstriping to get it to pop i think thats what its missing.

im not sure what color would go good inbetween it tho exept black but thats not a bright color.....

Re: new paint. couple pics in the booth

thanks guys.
the pinstripe is black with a blue tone and blue metallic. only really shows in the sun tho. the black pinstripe is actually the first layer of paint. it was just a foot wide stripe of black sprayed all around the truck. then taped off for silver, then that was taped off for the red. you can hardly feel the embossment of the paint this way.

a brighter color for the pinstripe might not of been a bad idea, looking at it now. but i knew i couldnt go wrong with black, so i just said spray it.

Re: new paint. couple pics in the booth

IM sure the paint is like our acura TL its black but has blue metalic in the paint so it looks blue in the sun. Im sure its the same look for the stripe

looks good, the stripe needs something done to it, maybe airbrushing an old school Chevrolet script on the gate?
