License plate lights

I was looking for a way to light up my license plate, it's frenched in the tailgate...

I got screws that act as lights from Pep Boys, but the lights where in the center, and didn't light up the license plate. So, we put them on the lip of the license plate, but they don't light up the whole plate

Whats the solutions? Got a warning and a ticket so far for improper lighting

Re: License plate lights

these have the lights on the bottom of the bolt so the light points down instead of straight out

Thanks guys, going to order from Summit...

Which of the three should I order? They all say stainless steel, so polished = chrome look or what? Also, acorn or no? All the pics are the same

Re: License plate lights

Also you can just go to your local Boaters Store and pick up some deck/courtesy LED lights...pretty much the same as the LED orangesonoma has. Work great as well.

i had the light bolts from summit....they sucked....and they only lasted like 2 weeks.....i guess they dont like the vibration of being dragged on the ground...lol...but they did not light up the plate as good as the leds...

Re: License plate lights

They make a license plate frame that has a light at the top of it that shines down to light up the entire plate and it doesn't look gawdy at all.

Re: License plate lights

Why does Jason make the boxes with only two holes up top for the bolt plug ins as opposed to all 4?
