Just wanting to double check.

Did some searching, I've got a truck thats had the filler and metal work done, the rest of the stock paint was da'd down and went over in 220. Was told to Epoxy prime the whole truck, then Shoot my top color, I'm just going to flat black it then pinstripe it in white and red. Should i use a filler primer over the top of the epoxy or is that just an un needed step?

Re: Just wanting to double check.

if you go back over your paint with 320 da and make sure it is perfect then you can just spot in your bodywork with epoxy, let flash, then topcoat those areas with urethane primer...let cure.....then block your primer spots finishing with 320-400 grit.....then you can reduce epoxy as a sealer, coat the whole truck then top coat with paint.......

follow that?

at the point you are at,and you can be sure there are no imperfections then this is the way to go...

Ok, I think im following what your saying. Then again i went to school to make them go fast not make them pretty. The parts that have filler and bare metal should be epoxied, let it flash and use a regular primer. Block sand it (wet sand?) then spray the whole thing with an epoxy primer reduced as a sealer? then my top coat.

oddly enough, I may just take you up on that one.. I could toss the bed on a trailer and drag it up there. depending on what it would cost for supplies and your time i may be very interested. It would actually be a big help to get it out of my garage, i could do the engine swap and fix all the previous owners stuff, and have you do the cab.
