getting painted on wed. check out my scheme

truck goes to the paint shop in two days. i finally got it ready and bought the paint. the base is the ppg 2009 bmw nightfire red. the stripe is gonna be ppg cool vanilla. what do you think of my tape job? its not perfect, just threw it up there for a reference, and for my painter.

i made the lower tape line on the bed where it drops down have more of a harder radius. i didnt get a picture of it, but it looks better cuz it matches the curve of thefenderwell.

i like the 1st style best, personally i dont like red and white together, but to each his own.... though you definately need a color to break the red from the white, it looks unfinished when you have a 2-tone with the colors just butted up to each other, you need a pin

i like the first one,
I add another part from the fender to the first dip down like another section could make it another color, maybe drag the second dip out, so when it strats to go flat has you go around the side

yeah i like the idea about extending the dip to the end of the bed. i will change that line tom and see what it looks like

oh btw, i know it def looks like dents on the door, buts just dust n dirt from me doing the body work on it. and how the primer layed down on it. i saw that too in the picture and ran back outside to check it out, bcuz i thought i might be going crazy.

the red with a vanilla color will look good if you use a black or even a silver pin stripe, i agree it will look unfinished if just red and white.

red and white would be ok two-toned, not like this though. he said he is using more of a cream color though. i think it will look pretty good. i can't wait to see the pics

its a checkmate lid. came with the truck, not sure where to get one, but yea they do the job, i like em cuz they have such a low profile. they come needing finishing though to make them look straight. i had to put in some serious hours to get the fiberglass smoothed out

oh and thanks guys. yea the stripe was gonna be cool vanilla, its on the chrysler 300's. but now i switched and got a very high metallic silver. and i also have narrowed down the stripe at the back to only about 3 inches tall. looks a little better it think.
