Question Cheese Cloth?

I was wondering if any of you guru X-terior painters know anything about the "cheese cloth" method. I watch Moster Garage a lot and I was totally diggin' the "F-350 nutshaker" paint job. I've looked up that method online and I keep getting bullshit links back. Any ideas where I could find out more about this technique?
