Question bought a grill. didnt realize i have an aftrmrkt shell.

So i ordered a billet grill from lmc, but didnt realize when we rebuilt my ss, we ordered an after market grill shell. im in a bit of a pickle. does anyone know any alternatives? an some punk rear ended me and f'd up my tailgate and rollpan. insurance gave me about 1100. should i shave my tailgate and put a sir michaels roll pan? or should i shave my tailgate and stick with an oem pan? Anyone know of a thread on how to shave a tailgate?

lol sorry for all the questions. iv had my 97 ss for about 2 years now, but never got a chance of making an account here. i always thought you had to pay for membership

Question lots of questions about my 97 ss.

bought a billet grill, but didnt realize when we restored my ss we bought an aftermarket grill shell. anyone know any alternatives? also, my dad and i replaced the dash pad in my ss, which means the rpo codes with the b4u and zq8 codes arent there anymore. i want people to know that mine is a true ss. do you think a regular chevy dealer could order or print me off a new one? also....lol.... some punk rear ended me. insurance gave me 1100. should i add more money to shave my tailgate and add a sirmichaels roll pan? or should i just shave the handle and stick with an oem pan? also haha does anyone know of a thread or something explaining step by step on shaving and relocating a tailgate handle?

i know its a lot of questions, im only 17, and i want ss to stand the fuk out!

billet grill

if i bought a billet grill for my 97 s10, then decided to go with the blazer composite headlight conversion, would i still be able to use that billet grill for the new grill shell?

Re: bought a grill. didnt realize i have an aftrmrkt shell.

its not fittin right. On the instructions it says to screws right in. But on my grill there isn't any holes or anything for it to 'bolt right in'

Screws in = makes a new hole.

Bolt on = bolts on exsisting hole.

Look at the billet insert, at the ends of each piece, there will be a hole. Now put the piece in place on the grill, that hole will be touching the part of the grill that is recessed, then get the screw (not a bolt) and screw through the hole right into the grill.

No. The blazer grill openings are curved on the corners. The regular grill has straight corners and on each end, it slopes inward (that's where the billet insert mounts). Each grill uses a different billet insert.

I know exactly what he is taking about. The billet for the regular grill will not fit in the Blazer grill.
