03' Cab corner rust

I have a 03' ext cab. I found a rust bubble on the right cab corner. I figured it couldn't be too bad cause it's an 03'. So I poked it with a pair of pliers and now I have a quarter sized hole clean through.

Has anyone else experienced "Chevy rust" on a newer s-10? I find it weird that it could be that serious on a 5 year old truck. I figure maybe it was wrecked and not repaired properly.

Any input would be appreciated.......

Re: 03' Cab corner rust

I had a 96 that had the same thing happen, but body-wise it wasn't really taken care of before it got it. Seems to be a really weak spot on these trucks.

When I was in Western Maryland last month in the mountains I walked by a silver 02-04? body style Dodge Ram that was covered in rot and rust bubbles. It actually caught my attention because I have never seen such a new body style truck so deteriorated.

Re: 03' Cab corner rust

reason i ask about the milage and salvage title is gm has warranty on sheetmetal for 8 years or 80,000 miles! it would be under warranty if its in that criteria.

I avoid touching the passenger side cab corner on my 2000, as I'm scared my figer will go through it. I'm from canada though.
