turn signals / hazard switch

put in a tilt colume. now my turn signals dont work and my hazards are all messed up. when i would turn left or right the lights had a mind of there own. if i lost u already, sorry. well i unpluged the fuse for the turn signals and hazards. found out the hazard switch is always in the up position like they are on. wont stay down. all other lights work fine. but the funny thing is, when i press on the brake pedal, both lights for the turn signal light up on the dash ( not out side ) and stay on till i release the brake. checked all grounds and such. any one have a thought on this. thanks

Re: turn signals / hazard switch

did you try to swap over the switch from your old non tilt column to see if that solved the problem...if your hazzard switch is busted it will cause all kinds of issues

Re: turn signals / hazard switch

truck runs normal. all other lights work fine, interior and exterior. just not the turns or hazards. how hard is it to take the colum apart. i did not put it in. but anyway i'll give it a shot and see what happens.

its not that hard but the screws are a small torx and the top of the column cover is a reverse torx..

My hazard switch is broke

I have an ink pin cap shoved down into the hole, with electrical tape holding it in . for now.

Re: turn signals / hazard switch

If its 98+ itll be behind your glovebox, push the u shaped thing up and drop the glovebox, and then it is the one that has a green strap over it. I am guessing its the same for sonomas. Sorry I dont have a pic, but if you drop the box, you should see it and I think its the one on the right but cant remember.

Edit: Sorry, just saw that you said you have an s10 and it is a 2000, so yeah itll be behind the glovebox and have a green strap on it. I am pretty sure it is the one on the right.

Re: turn signals / hazard switch
