Turn signal issues

Hey everyone, I'm driving a '96 s10 auto tranny, 2.2L. Last week I was driving and I flicked on my turn signal and realized that they weren't working. When I got home I discovered that the turn signals (and eventually my hazards) didn't work when I turned on the night time headlights. I took my bezel off that night for my friend to check for any issues (to no avail) and the next morning the turn signals worked.

Fast forward to yesterday: once again, my turn signals only work with just the drl's on. At first I thought maybe there was a malfunction in the headlight switch but now I'm thinking maybe my blinkers are starting to go bad but, how come the turns and 4-ways work with no headlights? I'm lost, I hate electronics...

ANY help would be appreciated, thanks!

Re: Turn signal issues

Last night I made another discovery. When the headlights are on and I hit my turns when the brake is applied, nothing. As soon as I release the break pedal they start working. When it's just my drl's and I have the break applied, they blink slower but as soon as I release the break, they go faster. Still don't know where to start...

I had somewhat of the same issue...

Your hazard switch may need to be replaced... When mine was broken I found out a lot about what all the hazard button connections are. there is horn connection, blinker connections brake light connections (yes, I swear) all in the hole where the hazard button is....

Check out the thread on how to replace the hazard button...

Re: Turn signal issues

Haven't posted because I've been working alot and I haven't been driving the truck. I also haven't been able to get the hazard switch to replace, but I foud other things. Every now and then when I hit my windshield wipers to just clear the rain (not set intermittent) they go like 4-5 times. I also made the discovery that when I press on my break pedal I only get my third break light coming on. I'm probably gonna take it to a shop and just have them fix it, I have to leave in a week for school and the truck has to go with me. Any ideas as to what it is so I can maybe get the part myself and save some money?

Re: Turn signal issues

check the wires under your feet on the drivers side. Pull the carpet back and see if one of the wires pulled loose from the clips
