stock fuel guage problem.....

i have a 99 s10 4.3 auto. once the fuel gauge gets down passed halfway mark it start movin. it will say its full then go to a quarter tank and keeps jumpin around.but if i fill it up it works fine its just when it gets down passed half tank that it starts messing up.any idea?????!?!?!? thanks

Mine does the same thing. It will move fast then stay in one spot for a while then move fast again..And when I turn off the truck it goes to E then after a few seconds it creeps up to 1/2 slowly. I just re-set my trip every time I fill up.

on my cluster i cant see the mileage...it will show up but very rarely

Really? Then something is wrong. I just got my truck less than a month ago so i'm a newb at all this maybe someone will chime in and help you out.

Mine had the same problem, however mine also had a power problem. Power was the fuel pump. The gauge issue was the sending unit. Replaced and all has been well for the last couple of months!!!

yea thats is what it is lookin like. probably gonna replace the sending unit
