power window help

In my 1st gen blazer the driver side power window randomly stops working..... it slows down and stops with the window part way down. Then if I wait a few minutes it works again.

I replaced the motor and regulator, and the switch... I know it's not blowing the breaker b/c the other windows still work....

Anyone know the solution here?

Re: power window help

That's what mine did when the motor went bad. Any chance you could've got a defective motor?

Re: power window help

where'd you get the motor from and what brand? it is a pretty good chance the motor is bad, but did you lube the new regulator? and if the tracks are hard as a rock, lube them?

Re: power window help

The motor was actually for my Cavalier, I got it from Advance. Not exactly sure what brand it was but it was a pretty good price with a lifetime warrenty. I just bought the motor and re-riveted it to my old regulator, it was a lot cheaper that way. It seems to work pretty good. I would definitely lube up the regulator and tracks real good while you have them out, it definitely won't hurt.

Re: power window help

Ok after inspecting closer I noticed something. There's a little black triangle shaped piece clipped to the side of the glass.... it is catching on the weather seal around the glass when I put the window down. If I pull it loose it works fine.

Anyone know what that thing is and can I take it off? Thanks

Re: power window help

I haven't the slightest idea what that piece could be, but a pic of it and where it's hanging up at will help

Re: power window help

that triangle piece is at the top of the glass, right? It needs to be popped into the weather stripping. It also acts as a guide for the window and it holds the window in the weather stripping. Roll the window about 6 inches down, grab the window with one arm on the outside and the other on the inside and yank the window towards the edge of the door. It should pop into the weather stripping. You may also need to lube the weather stipping.
