Passlock Reset

I think a admin or mod should make this a sticky because there's a lot on this... but nothing really conclusive or detailed.

Had to reset the Passlock on the dime tonight. I had to do a lot of looking around to find out how to do this. Hopefully this will save you the time and frustration that I had to go through.

Here's the steps...
1.)Try to crank the engine.
2.)Leave the switch in the "on" position.
3.)Leave the key in the on position for 10min.
4.)After 10min the security light will go off. Remove the key.
5.)Wait a few seconds and then start the truck.
6.)Send me money.

Re: Passlock Reset

So when you "try to crank the engine" you turn it for a second to start, let the engine turn slightly then let go?

Re: Passlock Reset

I'm gonna try this on my friends 01 blazer, we just got done re-doing a bunch of the air ride and we've had the battery unhooked for a few months. the fuel pump kicks on, the truck runs for a second or two then dies. i noticed that the SES light would only come on when we turned the key on the first time after hooking up the battery, but then after that, it dosne't come on any. is the SEs light not being on part of the passlock thing or do we have a more serious problem?

Re: Passlock Reset

i don't know 100% if the security light was on steady or flashing, but i think it was steady. i'm getting the tech2 tommarow so if the reset dosn't work, hopefully it'll tell me something.
