Re: Open Garage Door with High Beam Flash

i can see some people being confused..."Holy shit, he just flashed his lights and garage opened up!!!!!" one day you come home and one of your neighbors is sitting in his car in your driveway flashing his lights at the garage...lol..

Re: Open Garage Door with High Beam Flash

all he did was cut up a remote, and use the highbeams to activate the button... now that fun aprt with that would be to drive around flashing your high beams and see how many garage doors you can get to open!

The DIPs provide some level of security, but not much. Eight DIP switches provide only 256 possible combinations. That's enough to keep several neighbors from opening each other's doors, but not enough to provide any real security. The newer remotes have anti code grabbing and are digital.

Re: Open Garage Door with High Beam Flash

Actually, it is not necessarily a remote cut up. The system is called Flash 2 Pass...we have installed it on quite a few vehicles at work, with most of them being owned by the same person. He pulls up to his garage door, and he must flash his high beams (not his lows), due to how it is wired in. But its sketch - sometimes it works, sometimes not.

I do agree, but from what i rember the bike kit use to have a adjustable timer switch so they would only be on for 3,5,10 second intervals, dont know if the new kits are like that..

Re: Open Garage Door with High Beam Flash

so why dont you hard wire the remote to your trucks lights ,with some voltage drops because they do not run on 12v, so when you hi beams are on it tells your door to open. also you can drive around and see what other doors open!
