more battery relocation questions
ive welded a battery tray in front of the rear passenger tire under the bed, and i know i just extend the cables to the new location. ive got a couple feet of 0 ga., plenty of 2 ga. and a yellow top. my questions are,
1. can i just extend the postive cable to the stock conection where it would have bolted up to the battery? 2.any ideas on how i can connect the new cable and the stock cable? 3. there are threads saying that they upgraded alternator/fuse box/starter cables, why? and do i need to? 4. ive got compressor, stereo, electric fan, and more crap on the positive side, can i still connect that to the new cable and not have any problems? thanks in advance. and i know i will have more questions as soon as i can remember them. and please post pics if you can (im a dumb ass and they help). |

Re: more battery relocation questions
I would just get D Block and run all your accessories to it and run a single cable to the battery.
on my truck I have the starter cable, alternator and fuse box wire going to one side of the fuse on the core support and then a single 0 gauge cable going to the battery. then my audio going to a single 0 gauge cable on my battery. Last edited by Xtreme24 : 06-30-2008 at 07:01 PM. |

Re: more battery relocation questions
i talked to my friend who said run a 2 ga. to the starter, then a 8 ga. to the alt., then 0 ga. from the battery to the frame and stock terminal to the frame. and thats how he alwasy does them.
when you said you used the fuse on the core support, is that a stock fuse, or one you added yourself? |
