that is why i did the comparison with the stock ones right next to it.. you can see that they out shine them at night so you could only imagine what they look like during the day.. but if you like i will take pics for you during the day

If you don't mind saying, how much did that run you? PM me if you don't feel like sharing publicly, or just don't tell me it's up to you lol.

they have these
http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...id/0/SFV/32481
or
http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...id/0/SFV/32481

now both are prices for 2 the 1st ones are very similar to the ones i have in the red blazer.. you remember them..

and the second set is like the ones i tested before in the s10 tail...i feel both would give great light output...so if he wants to be cheap go for the first set..lol

they haven't sent me a total for my purchase yet but I told them the promo code so we'll see.

I bought the ones you had to test for the dome light...

http://cgi.ebay.ca/HID-WHITE-SMT-20-...713.m153.l1262

they are a 212 bulb, it will be a tight fit, but I am almost sure I can fit them inside the rearview mirror. I will def. post pics of the shoe horning I do, lol

yeah, grab a couple of pics during the day when u get a chance. During the day the red incandescent bulbs lit up the housing better. also try to get a pic from above the taillight, not level with it. because most drivers are looking down at ur taillight not looking straight into it. just trying to get a idea of just how bright these things are.
Thanks Brian

the cluster is stupid easy if you do it my way and go to the auto parts store and get the replacement sockets..i am doing a cluster tonight and i will show you the pics..but the ones in the link will work for both you just have to change the base on the light that is a plug in thing and velcro them to the under dash plastic...simple..

but i have also seen some trucks act funny with all leds so a regular bulb may need to be installed behind a panel for the resistance..if that happens...also make sure the bulb is not touching anything cause they do get hot...

Re: 194/3157/211 led bulb comparison

now i am not going to lie.. i did not come up with the flasher/relay mod.. Zeeke98 did and showed me...i wish i did..but here we go...

but here are the pics i just took of me doing it..
here is the unit

use a small screw driver to pry open the case..there are spots on both sides to pry

once you get it open it will look like this

i am pointing to the leg on the ic chip that has to be removed

with the edge of the razor put the end under the leg of the resistor...and apply light pressure to pop the leg up...you can also use a fine tip solder iron to heat up the solder and then pry it up...but i did this with a razor

snap the cover back on and you are good to go...

on 98+ s-series this is located behind the glove box door on the passenger side...it has a small green strap holding it in..push that aside and pull the unit out..

I didnt go all crazy like you did. I purchased these.

http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...id/0/SFV/32481
http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...id/0/SFV/32481
http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...id/0/SFV/32481

Basically I am upgrading to the leds to take some of the load off the fuse for them. I found out that the 1st gen trucks use 1 fuse for alot of different things. Example: In my truck, 1 fuse if for; radio, interior lights, cig lighter, and fog lights. That's alot of stuff for one fuse.

well if they dont look good you can use them in your reverse lights..lol

and the 194's are for the map lights?
they should look good...not as bright as the flat top one with the heat sink i used in my plate light test...

Re: 194/3157/211 led bulb comparison

now we go onto the cluster test..this cluster was sent to me by acehagg!
thanks!

ok it is a tach less one but it shows the same imperfections as the one with the tach does..where when you use forward facing leds they create "hot spots" of light

so what i did was go to autozone...get in the zone..and i picked up the replacement sockets...other stores carry them as well you just have to ask for the right thing..in this pic is the package...the product and the stock bulb...they cost like 3 bucks a pop but it is worth it

to show you the stock one next to the replacement one that will accept a 194 bulb with no modification

the bulbs i used for the test...a straight forward led with 5 leds and the fav. 360 led one...

forward shot

ok now onto cluster pics..
stock

stock 1 second shutter

stock 4 second shutter

now the forward facing leds
regular shutter

1 second

see the "hot spots"
4 second

now my fav 360 led

1 second

4 second

and in my blazer all 360 leds

new pics..you can sort of see the "hot spots" in the 4 second one but it does not look like that in person..
