brian- I dunno about other S10's but my dome light (ext. cab truck) has a rectangular cover over the bulb and it's kind of an off white color, would you need to remove this for the LEDS? it looks like it might obstruct some of the LEDS lighting. Maybe there's another cover we could get or just leave it off?

they have had that shitty dome light since 82..lol

re: 194/3157/211 led bulb comparison

ok got some good results tonight on the interior bulbs..and you would be crazy not to get them...
we start things off with a stock light bulb...no under dash light

stock light bulb...no cover

now we move onto the 211 led replacement light

crazy

cover on...

cover off...

then i stepped it up and installed one of the pc boards with the leds using the 211 base...

i for some reason did not take a shot of the bulb and back seat.but here is the glow..
cover off

cover on

this is how i mounted it...all you have to to is figure out a way to secure it in lense and snap it into place...

then i got the crazy idea to put two of the pc boards in there...

if fills almost the whole thing with leds

this is just amazing

the same ones i used on my blazer in caddy tails...stock on the right and led on the left
running light

brake lights

running led close up

running stock light close up

not so stock super white bulbs

now the orange leds

re: 194/3157/211 led bulb comparison

so if i was doing these lights in the interior of my s10 i would run four of these

i would run two in the dome and one on each side...best thing is they will work for both 1st gen and 2nd gens since the dome light has not changed but the floor lights have...they will work for both since the come with all types of base options and have both for the different years

now dont get me wrong..if you are tight on money you can do the replacement lights and still have a very nice spread of light you can replace them with these

and the 360 for under dash and you will be very happy..but if you like going over board like i do...then do it right the first time...

re: 194/3157/211 led bulb comparison

my dash lights, finally

lights off, flash on, in garage

lights off, outside, no flash

lights on, outside, no flash, standard shutter speed

lights on in garage, no flash standard shutter speed

lights on, in garage, no flash, one second shutter speed

lights on, in garage, no flash, 5 sec shutter speed

In between the standard and one sec shutter speed is what they really look like, and for some reason the camera brought out that dark spot which you really cant see in real life.

The backs of the gauges are painted white with high gloss spray paint, needles are blood red.

I added one extra LED behind the area below the gas gauge, kinda opposite the odometer, wasnt really necessary but it helped around the bottom of the gas gauge and the trip odo

These are good results. It was cold today and I pussed out going to the junk yard. It looks like you guys got it about taken care of, but LMK if you still want more clusters to test on, and I can go Tuesday for sure.

Ill be ordering up some of these soon.

I have heard about the LED blinkers flashing too fast, is this the case with first gens as well as second gens?

Are you going to go over about how to do the modifications to slow the light down?

i got 2 packs of 10 for free, my freind works where they make LEDs and diodes and resistors and shit, so he got them as free samples. it still does not change the fact that i think my dash looks great

yes for a 98+ i will show how to modify the flasher to stop the fast flash..
but for 82+ you can just replace the flasher with a electronic one from any parts store...if you do replace them all..you may need to hide a bulb some where in the curcuit for it to flash correct...had to do this on my 1st gen...but the bulb was behind the tail light and you could not see it...
or you can do the resistors but i dont like them

Awesome reviews! I really want to upgrade all of my interior bulbs now, cluster, floor and dome. It would be perfect if you could edit the original post to add part numbers and links to each LED that we would need to replace a certain bulb on our truck. Those interior lights look amazing with the dual panels.

i plan to do a thread with led replacement "guide" once i am done with what i am doing

also this is not the only vendor that sells these lights..i am not telling you to get them from him but if you were to shop around you can look for ones that are similar to ones that i posted up...

i also am going to talk to them about a promo code for the forum to receive something

Wonder how they would look with AVS or GTS smoked taillight covers on? I have them and the tail lights are to dim. I dont like any of the aftermarket taillights for 2nd gen Jimmy/Blazers. So I just use the covers. You wouldn't by chance have some smoked taillight covers laying around to do a test with would you?

Alright, i had enough....Im going to replace my cathodes

Those LEDs kick ass! you get great light coverage and it stays hidden. The thing i hate about my catodes under my dash is you can easily see them if you stand back 6 feet from the door. I cant wait to order these!

Re: 194/3157/211 led bulb comparison

So the 3157 LEDs you got work just like stock incandescent in the tail lights? You don’t have any problems of them not blinking when the running lights are on? Maybe you could post a movie of them blinking.

Re: 194/3157/211 led bulb comparison

awesome comparsion man. but my question is, how bright are the LED tails in the day? the daytime is where i always had problems with people seeing my brakelights in my clear taillights on my first gen, they just appeared to be red spots, i even bought the ones that had rear and side facing LED's hoping it would light up the whole lense but it didnt.
