High 4 Mod
Hey everyone, I was planning out my headlights/fogs and thought id share. I'm keeping HID fogs, running halogens on a high4 setup, and installing HID fogs. More on the install when i get everything, but for now i gots this fancy diagram i drew up.
Using a diode, you can retain "low-only" at Low on the switch. And "high-4" at hi on the switch. ![]() |

Re: High 4 Mod
im assuming that youre using 6 relays, and 2 diodes, realistically you only need 3 relays and one diode, even using 100 watt bulbs you will only pull 20 amps max per relay. and more relays is just more stuff that can potentially fail
this is how ive built 2 headlight harnesses so far, and the light output is great. ![]() |

Re: High 4 Mod
it's definitely over-engineered. When it comes to headlights i prefer knowing that if one low beam dies, the other remains.

Re: High 4 Mod
just wire your lights in parallel to the relay instead of series. you will still have power to both bulbs even if one dies, like i said, more connections and electronic components just makes for more stuff that can go wrong, ive hit a bump and lost headlights before, but doubling your relays thats just that many more connections that can come apart

Re: High 4 Mod
well here it is. i'd recommend this to anyone who was thinking the same idea. I won't fuse my HID lo beams together, they need to have their own circuit as a fail safe. The highs on one circuit, and the fogs on another. As far as hitting a bump and your headlights going out it sounds like you've got a loose connection somewhere man. Maybe at the terminals under the packard/dephi headlight plug or up at the battery. Using actual relay sockets and not just female end connectors will definitely ensure that'll never happen.
Here's the streamlined version. again my program auto-splices so ignore some of them. ![]() |

Re: High 4 Mod
Yeah i didnt know what i was doing when i first built mine. So now with experience i'm gonna run a set of dual relay sockets for the hi/lo's, and run an OE looking enclosed relay down near the fogs. And get a factory fog switch/light switch to replace mine with
