HIDs for first gen?

Is it possible? I know the lights are a sealed beam but have any companies made them allready built in with the bulb? I hate these stockers and everyone is getting HIDs and im really jealous because they look awesome

Re: HIDs for first gen?

hey man... you can basically put h.i.d.s in anything... you can get composite conversions and put h4 hid's in them...

No. No companies make sealed beam with HIDS built into them. You have to do an h4 conversion.

Re: HIDs for first gen?

i have these h4 conversions with the upgraded harness w/relays and some street glow hyper blue bulbs

i am MORE than happy with the light output...the bulbs burn a blueish white and lights up anything and everything around you....added all together...i think i spent a little under a hundred bucks

40 for the housings
25 for the harness
25 for the bulbs

next best thing to HID in my opinion

You said no one made sealed beams with HID's in your original post. In this post, you said no company made sealed beam housings, with built in HID projectors....here is proof to both of your statements all on one link

I must agree. Everyone looks at me, the prices I ask for my prototypes, retros, etc., and say Im out of this world. Yet, they fail to notice that to buy anything straight off the market is >$1000...I mean im sure they are all perfect parts, and everything just works like clockwork, but you pay for the flippin clock!

Well hell! I don't have a first gen and dislike sealed beams anyways.

Psh! How dare you roll your eyes at me. Make me retro.

Re: HIDs for first gen?

thanks for all the info and chit chattering, but ive come to realize that its a pain in the balls to just get HID's for my truck. Esp for over a grand =/

I tried adjusting my stockers by moving them way up and pointing them in a little. It helped some, but not like these new car headlights that look like they have their high beams on at you..

Re: HIDs for first gen?

Just posted this on another forum. The first pic is of those 6x7 cheap ebay first gen "projectors" that is basically a glass lens in front of the bulb (no cutoff shield or anything). The light output sucks. Second pic is a 4x6 bosch H4 headlight. Third is an infiniti fx35 bi-xenon HID projector which I will be retro'ing for my blazer at some point.

Me? They have a shield in the projector that when fed 12volts moves out of the way and provides the high beam. They are a bi-xenon, so they are both low and high.
