GPS Module wiring question

First off i hope i'm putting this in the right forum, i figured since it's power and wiring related it should go in electrical...

I've decided to upgrade to a stereo w/ an included GPS module. It has one wire for ground, constant 12v and 12v accessory, and parking brake. I plan on grounding the parking brake because there's no need for it in a GPS. My question is this: does anyone have suggestions of good sources i can tap into for the constant and accessory power, and where these wires are located?

Re: GPS Module wiring question

Do you have a '93 as in your sig line?
If so... on the truck side, ORANGE is constant power, and PINK is switched power. And since we're on it... brown is the lighting, grey is variable voltage for back lighting, black is ground (duh).

The poster above might have been referring to the radio harness, or a later model vehicle.

Re: GPS Module wiring question

ya its a 93. I have a metra harness that i'll be wiring the new stereo to, so i think that the yellow and red colors will hold true, but if that wiring method doesn't work then i know which colors to look for when i'm diggin around in the truck
