Fuse Location

The center floor console has a cigarette lighter and no power to it. I've checked the fuse block and they are all good. Anyone know the fuse location?

Thanks,
Greg

Re: Fuse Location

It should be at the other end of the feed wire.
Are you sure that the ground is still good.

Re: Fuse Location

the cigarette lighters are good for burning out. You might just want to change it out.

Re: Fuse Location

I checked for power after disconnecting the cigarette lighter from the connector. I tried to follow the orange and black wires that come from the lighter and go up into the dashboard. I did not see those two colors on the fuse block but it is pretty cramped in there after the previous owners hack job when they put in a remote starter. I really don't want to disassemble the dashboard just to find the fuse. I have the factory service manual for the truck but it does not have any diagrams, that I could find, regarding the lower center console lighter.

Re: Fuse Location

I checked for power from the connection, not the lighter. There is no power to the connector. It's a 1994 S10 Blazer.

It is a 1994 S10 Blazer. I have checked the fuse block under the left side of the dash. I've checked the power from the plug not the lighter itself. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Greg

Re: Fuse Location

well i believe it shares the same power with the radio and other plug in the dash..and the dome light...

when you checked power were you missing ground or power at the plug?

Re: Fuse Location

orangesonoma's right, it shares power with the dome, horn, etc. And since you're not getting power at the plug, all I can tell you is to trace the wires backwards until you find a break.

Same ride... same problem... plus no remote lock/unlock and no power seat. The radio works the dome/courtesy lamps work so I don't believe the cig lighter/power plug are on the same circuit. There are no blown fuses but the 30 amp breaker on the top right side of the fuse block keeps resetting intermitently. I tested the wires and cig plug with VOM and it checks ok, no shorts and the wires have continuity. The problems all started at the same time. Have you found the gremlin in yours yet or does anyone else have an idea where to look without pulling the entire harness?? Is there a thermal overload breaker somewhere in the circuit??
