dead battery due to ground wire?

so my battery got drained somehow after i relocated the battery to the bed...

i ran 0 gauge for the power lines but didnt have enough for the ground... so ran a 10 gauge for the negative TEMPORARILY...

could this be why the battery drained???

Re: dead battery due to ground wire?

quite possibly...... grounding is very important..... you should really have multiple grounds for it to be effective.... ur best bet, charge the battery, and have someone try to start it and feel if the little 10 ga. is getting hot.... if so, u know where ur problem is

Re: dead battery due to ground wire?

ok cool... im gonna try it back where it used to be just to test it... then get the 0 gauge kit anyways...

but could it have been from some kind of short? in the power wires? or something drawing power somehow?

Re: dead battery due to ground wire?

if the truck just sat there then no the 10 gauge would not kill the batery...
