calibrating guages if possible

I've got a 2000 sonoma 4.3l auto. Truck came with some aftermarket white face guages that were in bad shape. Tach and speedo worked fine in the beginning, then the speedo was off pretty much out of nowhere. Says I'm going faster than I am... So I replaced the entire cluster with one from that S10 junkyard on ebay, 4.3 auto and everything. The speedo is still off just the same and now it seems like the tach is off too. (Too high also, usually shows idle in gear at around 1100rpms.., shifts around 4k mark during normal driving when I know it's not nearly that high....

What can I do?????

Thanks
Dan

Re: calibrating guages if possible

Do you have stock wheels and gears in the rear? That could be affecting your gauges if there not stock. Youwould have to have them calibrated for the new pramerters of your wheels and/ or gears.

If that is not the case then you could take the cluster/ truck to the stealership and have them look at it. I did this after I switched my gauge face to white. They sent it to a GM facility for re calibrating. I think it cost me $100.00. Re calibrating was required for switching the gauge face.

Re: calibrating guages if possible

Ok thanks for the reply. It's been a while I know i just moved and finally got my internet all set up.

Anyways, I called the dealership and they said the only way to get it right was to order a new one through them because the can't recalibrate whatever is in there is permanent.

Is there another way anyone knows about???
