What would be better for transplanting a V8 into a extended or regular cab
98+ S10?

Reasons?

Thank You

Re: Ext or Reg for V8?

shorter wheelbase. less weight... better weight transfer. but then the longer wheel base also makes somethings easier. but if its a DD then an EX cab is the only way i'd go. i know i'd never go back to a single cab.

Re: Ext or Reg for V8?

chevhead has a point.... but I'm not a tall or heavy person (5'8" and 145 lbs) so a reg cab is good for me...

I say option C.

Build a Blazer....they hook like a mofo and have plenty of room on the inside.

+ls1

i dont think i could ever go back to a truck after having my blazer.

blazers weigh about the same as a truck but hook better due to more weight over the axle

I could go either LS1 or traditional SBC...I wouldn't care either way.
But I have a DD....and my Blazer is not it

Re: Ext or Reg for V8?

Personaly its regular cabs over the extended cabs for me. They just look so much better. Extended cabs look ungainly. Step sides are to busy looking. Thats just my personal preference. Nice thing about it is there is a S-10 for just about everybodys tastes.

enjoy everyone

Re: Ext or Reg for V8?

I like reg cabs personally.... or 2dr blazers.

BTW, keep in mind 1st gens are lighter when you compare those weight numbers posted up there. If you do a 2nd gen blazer, it'll weigh more.... but they aren't NEARLY as common as V8 reg cab pickups.

Re: Ext or Reg for V8?

What I have heard-If there is an option of wheel bases, the longer one would be good for weight transfer.

Having a reg cab would have an advantage over ext cab for the driveshaft length.

I was going to keep the static parameter than go to air bags.

I have an ext cab right know and I like the room behind the seats even though blazers have more room. I am 6' 1", so I don't know if that would have a great imapct on the reg cab option. I sat in my friends reg cab and had leg room, but I don't know how I would like driving. Don't know how much difference the heat/sun get in from the back with the window tinted. Can't ask driving his, b/c he wrecked it. My dad had a blazer that tipped over and heard that blazers are top heavy in general.

I drive the Dragon every once in awhile and don't feel a blazer would be the best for that. (I don't money flowing out of my ears to have everything)

I am guessing that a reg cab would have an adavntage over ext cab for cornering from the wheel base?
