Re: Who here has got a disorderly conduct before

My friend pleaded down to disordly conduct from simple assault. Court costs and fine were around $400-$500. With a lawyer, $1200. Expect possible probation.

Re: Who here has got a disorderly conduct before

Well I got it for doing a burnout in a parking lot Which i think is a bunch of crap... should have been a moving vehicle citation, it was 3am with no one around so i sure as hell didn't put anyone in danger.

Thing is the cop that issued it, campus cop, is a douche and knows me from past incident where he wanted to bust me but couldn't.... So i think hes just trying to cause me as much trouble as possible, charging me with something i didn't do (disorderly) and make me have to go to court over it... even wrote "request max fine" in the comment field of the slip.. ass. He wasn't in his car when he saw me so i hauled ass outta there.... but he even waited an hour until i was back on campus and then patrolled all the lots looking for the truck to get the plate and find out where i live. And he also wrote on the slip that there was another person in the vicinity which is a flat out lie... it was deader than a doornail out there.

So im gonna plead not guilty and see if i can get it dropped or changed to a careless driving ticket like it should have been to begin with... but damn i hope it ain't $500

So doing 200mph down an empty highway is legal because there's no one else in danger?

If I had cops that knew me from incidents past, I would expect nothing different. I can imagine you were a bit of a douche to him as well. Getting in trouble for something you had done and complaining or harassing him after being given a citation. If he remembered you, you definitely have it coming your way now. Sounds like you probably raise enough hell anyway. It was bound to happen.

What was the reason he was after you last time?

Re: Who here has got a disorderly conduct before

Ok so let me make sure I got this right...

Burnout in an empty parking lot at 3:00 am.

Cop sees this, you shag ass, come back later and he finds you and tickets you.

Hmmm....I see a whole plethora of different things he could've cited you for.

Destruction of property (since you were on private property)
Trespassing (since doing burnouts isn't something that most private property owners would allow)
Eluding cops (because you took off)
General stupidity (wait, that's not a cite-able offense, but should be)

Since you've had a previous encounter with this guy, you should be glad that all you got from him was a ticket for disorderly conduct. Because you've demonstrated how much of a goddamn idiot you are, I personally think he should've figured out a way to arrest your ass and tossed you in jail.

That reminds me of a time I was in court for having dead tags and a kid had a wreck-less driving ticket for doing a burnout in a WaWa parking lot. The judge asked the cop if anyone was jumping out of the way of the car and he said no so the judge said that's not wreck-less and he dropped it.

I don't know what a campus cop is but sounds more like a rent-a-cop with a fvckin whistle. Can they actually issue a citation by lookin around a parking lot and then finding tags. This whole story doesn't sound legit to me...

I would take disorderly conduct. If you end up convincing them to change it to wreckless driving, you're going to be paying higher insurance rates for years

Re: Who here has got a disorderly conduct before

I had a few when I was under 18 here in PA, came out to around $230. Don't blatantly yell "SHUT THE FVCK UP" to the whole english class, don't break a lunchroom table in half by jumping on it, don't throw snowballs at the local hardware store sign and get tackled by the owner, and don't moon an 11 year old girl and her trailer trash mom.

How do you know there's no security footage of this event? It's just a disorderly, pay the damn fine and live with it, and stop doing burnouts in a weakass truck...burnouts are as lame as diarrhea. You're just lucky it wasn't a moving violation, the cop let you off pretty easy.

The cop can give you whatever he feels like. You take it to court and the Judge will tell you what you get.

Depending on the judge and everything... it would probably get dropped all together. Being 3am and he wasnt in his car, he probably got a vague description of your truck too. You think he positive knew it was you?

I know the campus cops here in MA (at least at uMass) have the same authority as state troopers. That may be because it's a state school and private schools are different? Not sure, but the ones on campus at UMass can do anything a normal state trooper would.

Always seek the advice of a lawyer. Your $600 fine and 2 years of probation could easily become court costs and 1 year of probation. Having a lawyer is invaluable.

At the same time, it could become just court costs providing you've got a good lawyer.

most state campus police are real police from the county the school is in, just their jurisdiction is now on campus and a 1/4 mile off campus

But he never said there wasn't a video. OP I say just pay the fine, it's better than pleading not guilty and getting nailed for other stuff as well.

I doubt they will pull a video to nail a kid for doing a burnout.

Pretty lame city if they do. It's not like anybody got hurt or vandalized so why pull a tape?

usually campus police officers are actual deputized police officers, but their jurisdiction is only on the campus. . .the schools partially or completely pay their wages, and it takes a little load off of the city/county because they have to spend less resources policing the campus, which would usually occupy a large portion of their budget. . .

i don't know who this rustytrombone blowing mother****er is, but he's dead set on calling this guy a rent a cop. . .a rent a cop is that annoying prick that still kicks his ass out of the mall for loitering, not an officer on campus who can write real tickets and arrest your ass. . .

When I went to college, our full time campus officer was a Marion County Sheriff Deputy. He drove through the parking lot on a weekly basis checking license plates. And after he was done with the day at school he did daily routes for the Sheriff's department.

Re: Who here has got a disorderly conduct before

"So doing 200mph down an empty highway is legal because there's no one else in danger?"

Didn't say i was innocent... if he would've gave he a summary traffic violation for careless driving i would have just paid it since thats what i did. My problem is that since he has it out for me from before he lied on the citation to charge me with something worse that will cost me more, make me have to go to court, and go on my record. (the latter not good as i work in the I.T. dept of a public school district).

"I can imagine you were a bit of a douche to him as well."

I didn't say one disrespectful word to him. But i'm not calling this guy sir or any of that crap either when hes 18, 4 years younger than me.

"What was the reason he was after you last time?"

Had a fight with the ex gf over the phone, she got all pissy about the nasty stuff i said and actually went to the cops to complain. About a text message. Can you say whiny little stuck up bitch. This cop wanted to bust me for somethin but all he could do was warn me not to talk to her again which was fine with me.

"How do you know there's no security footage of this event?"

Our parking lots do not have cameras.

"I know the campus cops here in MA (at least at uMass) have the same authority as state troopers. That may be because it's a state school and private schools are different? Not sure, but the ones on campus at UMass can do anything a normal state trooper would."

That is how it is here also. It's like a local police dept for the campus instead of a town.

Been thinking and i seem to have got myself in a bit of a situation. If i can get it reduced to careless driving, that'll get me a suspended license as i already have points on it for speeding, and higher insurance. But if i plead guilty to the disorderly that'll cost more than the careless up front and jepordizes my job. This blows

And this forum really needs multi-quote btw.
